This cake was so easy AND fabulous. I didn’t make the caramel as I had some jarred brandy/caramel sauce, but this recipe is a keeper – it took less than 15 minutes to prepare (which is unheard of when preparing anything with fresh apples). I was concerned that the apples would not get cooked since they were in larger chunks, but turned out perfectly. The only issue was I wasn’t sure what size of springform pan to cook it in, started with a 9″ pan, but it looked too thin, transferred it to an 8″ pan and it was great. Guests have asked to cook it again for upcoming holiday parties.
Hi, Donna. So glad you liked the cake. I was also a little skeptical of the apples the first time I made it, but the big chunks ended up being my favorite part!
